Beef and Potatoes Skillet Dish

Recipe by Donna ..|.. Index | Meat / Main Dishes

This recipe is quick and kind of like a hamburger helper dish. It's the sort of thing that one makes when pressed for time and has fresh ground beef and potatoes on hand. The recipe is sized for a 12-inch skillet. If you do not have a 12-inch skillet, reduce the recipe by one-third and use a 10-inch skillet.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 pounds ground meat (turkey or beef)
  • 6 or 7 medium potatoes
  • 3 beef bouillon cubes
  • 3 cups water
  • black pepper

Directions

Brown the meat in an electric skillet (or large 12 inch skillet). Depending on the potato, either wash them or peel them. Slice the potatoes into thin slices (1/4 inch). When the meat is browned, add the water, bouillon cubes and potatoes. Stir, reduce heat, cover the pan and simmer until the potatoes are tender, about 10-15 minutes. Stir once or twice during the cooking time. Pepper to taste.
