Fraction "Pies"

The other side of the fractionsThe fraction manipulatives below come in two sizes, large and small. Choose the size that you want and, for durability [optional], print on card-stock.

The image on the left shows some fraction pieces assembled to make a whole. The pieces shown here are the back of the fraction pies and they have been colored. Notice both of the eighths are yellow? All of my 1/8's were yellow, all of my 1/2's were green, and all of our 1/4's were pink.

Suggested How To For the "Unique" Pies: After printing a set from the "Unique" group, roughly cut out the circles. Color the back of each circle a different color. This makes the fraction pie pieces easier to sort. Trim around the circles and then cut the circles into fractions. If you wish, you can write the name of the fraction on the back of each one. The front of each fraction has its name written four ways such as: 1/2 = one-half = 50% = 0.50.

Suggested How To For the "Groups Of Four": Print each file, there are eight of them, on eight sheets of paper. For ease of sorting, print each fraction size on a different color paper. If you do not have eight paper colors, then each sheet could be colored with crayons or colored pencils.
