The Composition Filler Paper
The image below shows one of my daughter's paragraphs that was assigned from the book Jensen's Format Writing.
She wrote the assigned paragraphs on the composition paper that I made for this type of class. I blurred her paragraph because it was too personal to show. This example shows how to use the composition paper. To use the paper as designed, the student writes in the wide area on the left and the teacher uses the two narrow columns on the right to count and note errors.
At the bottom, I listed the errors in categories and each one has a grade. The categories came from the criteria that I set in my composition grader and the specific grades were calculated by the grader.
In case you are curious, her weak opening sentence was: "This paragraph is about ..."
